I will graduate in the Spring of 2017 with a Ph.D. in Economics from Syracuse University. I received a Master’s Degree in Economics from Syracuse University in 2012 and a Bachelor’s Degree from Renmin Univeristy of China in 2010.

My research and teaching interests are in urban economics, real estate finance, and labor economics. My dissertation comprises three papers that are related to household migration, employment outcomes, and the mortgage market. The first part of my dissertation analyzes the degree to which single Ph.D.-trained workers face trade-offs between marriage and labor market opportunities. This paper has been submitted to a peer-reviewed journal. The second part of my dissertation compares the metropolitan location choices of foreign-born versus US-born Ph.D.-trained individuals, with particular attention paid to the role of marriage and labor market opportunities for highly educated singles and couples. The last part of my dissertation investigates the degree to which mortgage distress affects household mobility and home maintenance.
